Grandma hearts Ali
Yesterday, I attended my grandmother's wedding. Now, that's something
you don't say everyday! It was a nice wedding, and finally she has her
man, Ali, as a legal husband.
Ali is from Iraq but had to escape to Sweden. He lived here in exile
for a while, but was then deported and moved to Greece for about a
year. During that time, my grandmother has constant contact with the
Swedish immigration service and earlier this year, he came back!
After the wedding ceremony we had cake and coffee for everyone and
after that the closest family went to a Libanese restaurant and had a
meze dinner.
Ali is my new grandfather, and in a way my only grandfather. Can't
wait until he speaks Swedish!
Line up, Everybody!
Don’t be fooled by the pictures, Sweden is NOT a communist country!
This is not the line for foodstamps, it is the line to get vaccined
from the swineflu.
Believe it or not, but we don’t have a lot of mass vaccinations,
actually I’ve never been to one before, so I thought I had to write
something up about it.
We arrived an half-hour early and there were still 965 people ahead of
us! We stood in line for one and a half hour, and covered 500 meters. If you don’t believe me, watch this map!
When we went out, the line had grown even longer. I heard they had 2
500 shots, and it doesn’t take a genius to realize that the people at
the very back won’t get any!
Anyways, now we’re safe and sound and hoping we won’t catch any of the
deadly side-effects!

Play-Doh Session
Earlier today I had an Play-Doh jam session with Mel. These are (a few
of) the results. From the top left: "Spaghetti with meatball", "Hot
Dog", "Mel Dog", and "Eggah". The 'dogs looked so realistic Melker
even tried eating it. How's that for a nice grade?!
I think more people should have Play-Doh sessions, especially with
kids! It' great fun! Now that knitting has become so popular again,
it's time for a new trend: what better than Play-Doh? I'm gonna make
it happen!
